BORON, Calif. - A man was found dead after he tried to cross railroad tracks in Boron on Wednesday afternoon.

On Jan. 30, at about 5 p.m., officials said 63-year-old Joe Perez was struck by a train while trying to cross the tracks near Jessie Street and Patricia Street.

Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

After investigation, it was found that no road crosses the tracks at this site, officials said.
