Boys and Girls Club is increasing their summer day camps

More summer activities for kids

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County is increasing their Summer Day Camp locations to five this summer, to give more children access to fun activities.  A variety of programs including robotics, rock wall climbing, sports, performing and visual arts, gardening, cooking, and field trips will ensure an amazing summer experience while fending off summer learning loss.

The newest Boys & Girls Club Summer Day Camp will be on the Suburu Elementary School campus in Southwest Bakersfield and will have a special focus on the Performing Arts. Club members will get to explore theatrical arts including acting, singing, dancing, costuming, set design and stage direction while rehearsing for the production of Aladdin Jr.  This newest Club will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"Summer Day Camp is all about a wide variety of fun adventures and new experiences. Amazing opportunities that will give each Club member memories that will last a lifetime and plenty of camp stories to share when they return to school.  We have responded to an increase in the need for new program locations so more children can have a wonderful and meaningful summer experience," Zane Smith, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County.
