BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Friday, May 30, 2014, the Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Detail conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint in East Bakersfield.
The DUI/DL checkpoint took place in the 1600 block of Niles Street between 7:00 PM and 2:00 AM on Saturday.
The BPD said that a total of 848 vehicles passed through this location. Eight-hundred, twenty-seven of those vehicles were screened, with the following results:
- 2 driving under the influence arrests
- 2 felony arrests
- 38 drivers were found not to have a valid driver’s license
- 29 of those drivers were found to have a suspended license
- 66 vehicles were impounded
