BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - In an ongoing effort against domestic violence, today the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a “Domestic Violence Warrant Sweep Operation” with the assistance of the Kern County Probation Department.
As a result of this operation 12 people were arrested for outstanding domestic violence related warrants, officials said.
The operation also included “The Alliance Against Family Violence” who offered services to domestic violence victims and their families.
In addition, two people were arrested during the operation for unrelated arrest warrants.
Police said domestic violence is a serious crime. Anyone who is a victim or witness of domestic violence, is encouraged to call 911 and report it immediately.
