BPD: Man wanted for sexual battery of woman after he fondled her from behind

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is asking the community for help in identifying and locating a man wanted for sexual battery.

On July 2, at 8:55 a.m. the 51-year-old female victim was walking northbound in the 5000 block of Mountain Vista Drive.

Police say the suspect was riding a BMX-style bicycle southbound on the same side of the street as the victim.

The victim and suspect said "good morning" to each other as they passed, according to police.

Police say approximately 30 seconds later, the suspect approached the woman from behind, fondled her breasts and attempted to force her to the ground. The victim yelled for help at which time the suspect fled southbound on the bike.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male between 25 and 27 years old, 5'5" with a medium build and acne on his forehead. Police say he was wearing a white tank top, red basketball shorts and black Nike tennis shoes. He was riding a 20" Huffy brand BMX style bicycle.
