BPD: Nothing criminal in nurse who neglected to perform CPR on elderly woman at Glenwood Gardens

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department said on Wednesday it has completed its investigation into the incident involving the death of an elderly woman at Glenwood Gardens.

Police say after investigating, nothing criminal was found.

"On Monday, March 4, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department initiated a preliminary investigation involving Lorraine Bayless, a resident of Glenwood Gardens, located at 350 Calloway Drive. The investigation focused specifically on the events of Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at approximately 11:06 a.m. The purpose of this investigation was to determine if there were any criminal violations, as defined by the California Penal Code, pertaining to the death of Bayless. A thorough review was conducted of all the facts surrounding the case. The investigation revealed that no criminal statutes had been violated. As of Wednesday March 6, 2013, the Bakersfield Police Department has concluded its investigation and will not be filing any criminal charges against any of the individuals involved in the case."
