The Bakersfield Police Department has received 1,579 domestic violence related reports so far this year.
As a result of investigative and enforcement efforts, 1,007 arrests have been made for domestic violence related crimes within the jurisdiction of the Bakersfield Police Department this year. In addition, 200 active domestic violence warrants have been issued during the last two years where the offender has not yet been located and arrested.
On Wednesday at about 6 a.m., 60 members of the BPD investigations and operations divisions and the Kern County Probation Department followed-up on 161 of those outstanding domestic violence warrants.
As a result of these efforts, 22 domestic violence warrant suspects were located and arrested. During the sweep, 6 additional unrelated warrants were cleared and one suspect was arrested on open charges unrelated to the sweep, officials said.
The location of the remaining domestic violence suspects remains unknown at this time. The attached list of those offenders has been released to the media in an attempt to elicit community involvement in locating those who remain at large in our community.
Anyone with information regarding the location of those suspects is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
