BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An early morning police pursuit ends with two Bakersfield Police Department patrol cars crashing into each other in east Bakersfield.

The pursuit started at about 12:30 a.m. when an officer tried to pull over a reported stolen vehicle at Tulare St. and Lincoln St., according to Police Lieutenant Jason Townsend.

A pursuit began when the driver didn't pull over. Seconds before the chase ended on Lincoln St. a new police cruiser and an older patrol car responding to the pursuit collided at Robinson St., according to Lt. Townsend.

Three officers and a Police Explorer were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, said Townsend.
