B.P.D. searching for clues following late night shooting in Central Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A shooting late Thursday night in central Bakersfield sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to Bakersfield Police Department officials, the shooting happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Eye Street.

Investigators didn't learn of the shooting until workers at San Joaquin Community Hospital contacted the department, saying a patient with gunshot wounds had arrived at the facility.

That victim, whose identity hasn't been released, was later moved to Kern Medical Center and underwent surgery early Friday morning.
