BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department responded to a shooting on the 1100 block of E. Planza Road, Saturday evening, where a victim suffered a gun shot wound.
Police said 71-year-old Samuel Carter was shot around 7:53 p.m.
Carter was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect - described as a black male - fled the scene in a black Ford Mustang going westbound on E. Planz Rd.
