BPD: Suspect wanted for child kidnapping, molestation

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for child molestation and kidnapping according to Michaela Sims of the Bakersfield Police Department.

The suspect vehicle approached the juvenile victim in the area of 4th Street and Union Avenue on Sunday between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m, officials said.

The suspect demanded the victim get inside the vehicle, to which she complied, officials said.

He drove the victim to the area of Ming Avenue and South Real Road and sexually assaulted her. The suspect dropped the victim off at Ming Avenue and South Real Road and fled the area, officials said.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a light complexion, 25 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a medium build, with a light mustache and hair cut in a short fade, officials said.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored jeans. He is possibly armed with a handgun, officials said.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a tan, older model, two door vehicle, clean in appearance, similar to a Buick Century with a tan leather interior, officials said.
