Bakersfield Police, SWAT search homes for Chester Avenue double-homicide suspects

Suspect considered armed, dangerous

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Police SWAT officers went door-to-door early Thursday morning in a Central Bakersfield neighborhood after a suspect was identified in the double-homicide that occurred on Chester Avenue yesterday.

On July 17, two men were killed at a medical marijuana clinic and suspects reportedly fled the scene.

Officials said the investigation revealed the motive for the shooting was robbery. One suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Aaron Patrick Burris of Bakersfield, police said. A two million dollar Ramey Warrant was obtained for Burris.

The second suspect is described as a black woman in her 20s. She is said to be about 5-foot-2 and weighs about 150 pounds. Police said her black hair that was pulled into a bun.

The investigation led Bakersfield Police Department SWAT team to the 10000 block of Valley Forest Court and the 1300 block of Schull Court, where investigators conducted a search and collected evidence related to the crimes.

Burris was not located and should be considered armed and dangerous.
