BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Sunday Feb. 23 around 1 a.m. Bakersfield police responded to a medical aid call at 210 Cedar Street.
Officers located a juvenile victim who was unconscious with several injuries and was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, police said.
The victim was later transported to Valley Children Hospital in Madera, Calif. in critical condition.
A second juvenile victim was at the house and was taken into protective custody, police said.
After investigation, police revealed the juvenile taken to the hospital was suffering from blunt force trauma.
Two suspects, 34-year-old Virginia Rodriguez and 31-year-old Jesse Brown were interviewed and later booked into the Kern County Jail for felony child abuse charges, police said.
