FRAZIER PARK, Calif. - June Schmidt thought she was doing everything right when looking after her health.
She had annual doctor visits and scheduled her mammograms, but having no family history of breast cancer she put off her exams for several years until she felt a lump.
A doctor confirmed it was breast cancer, but she was determined to fight it and win.
That was three years ago and now she is cancer free. In an effort to educate other women she is spearheading the first ever Relay for Life in Frazier Park.
She said this is her way of celebrating her life and giving gratitude to those who've helped her along the way.
