BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local charity dedicated to helping low-income children and adults unveiled its latest project today, thanks to the community's generosity.

The Friendship House unveiled a group of sponsored bricks for its 'stone soup' commemorative pathway.

The bricks were bought and paid for by the community and money from the sale will help fund a playground and outdoor quad area.

The 8-by-8 bricks sell for $300 and can be inscribed with the names of a loved one or a company logo.

Organizers said fundraising will continue throughout the year.
