BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - If you enjoy breakfast burritos, you'll definitely enjoy what one group of volunteers are whipping up in the kitchen.
At least 200 burritos will be made for those who need it the most in our community: Bakersfield's homeless.
Around 30 volunteers from the Bakersfield Burrito Project will spend Sunday handing out water bottles and burritos to the homeless and the hungry. Volunteers say that for some, this may be the only warm meal they've had in a while.
The organization is also celebrating a milestone this weekend. They'll hold a special fundraiser to mark their fifth year of being able to feed the community.
If you'd like to participate in the Bakersfield Burrito Project, you're invited to come to downtown Bakersfield.. The Burrito Project begins at 11 a.m. at Mill Creek park, located at 21st and R Streets. They're asking resident to also drop off soap and shampoos during the event.
