ARVIN, Calif. - A mother was reunited with her 4-year-old child Friday morning after her car was stolen with her child inside.
At about 5:45 a.m., Bernadina Sanchez called the Kern County Sheriff's Department and told dispatchers that her car was stolen with her child inside from an apartment complex in the 11000 block of South Comanche Drive.
At the same time, Kern County Superintendent of School's bus driver Damon Anglin was driving along Comanche Drive when he said he saw a very young child walking alone along the roadway.
Anglin pulled over and talked with the child to find out what he was doing out so early and then called 911.
Anglin, with the assistance of his transportation aid Michelle Darden, took the child to The Barn Mini Mart at DiGorgio Road and North Comanche Drive.
Deputies took Sanchez to the store where she was reunited with her son.
Officials said the child was uninjured.
Officials haven't released any information about the vehicle that was stolen or suspect information.
