BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - California lawmakers will be holding a Water News Conference to talk about the record dry conditions.

Last week, lawmakers sent letters to President Obama and Governor Jerry Brown, urging them to declare a drought in California.

Congressman David Valadao and Senator Jean Fuller will highlight the severe consequences of the drought and will be asking leaders to take quick action.

The conference was at 11:30 a.m. at the Kern County Water Association on Rio Mirada Drive.
