California City Police: Man attempted kidnap on female jogger

CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. - California City Police Department Officers responded to the intersection of Hacienda and South Loop boulevards regarding a man attempting to kidnap a female jogger.

The woman said she was jogging eastbound on South Loop Boulevard approaching Hacienda Boulevard Wednesday.

The victim said a small truck pulled up beside her and the driver made a comment, police said.

The truck was described as a black 1996-2004 Toyota Tacoma extended cab with tinted windows.

When the victim turned the corner she saw the vehicle parked in the roadway and a man standing in the bicycle lane, police said.

The man was described as an African-American man, 6-feet tall, with a heavy build, dark hair and tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, police said.

The victim said when she tried to run past the man, he grabbed her wrist and attempted to pull her. The victim immediately fought back and was able to run away, police said.

The victim said she turned around to make sure the suspect was not following her and observed the vehicle driving away towards Redwood Boulevard.
