If so, CHP will be accepting applications during the month of January.
They hope to attract thousands of hopefuls, which usually nets just a few hundred academy graduates.
The screening process takes up to 18 months and weeds out about 97 percent of applicants.
Nearly half of the remaining three percent of applicants become cadets. Eventually leave before completing the six months of training.
In order to apply, you must be a u-s citizen between the ages of 20 and 35.
You also must have a high school diploma and have no felonies on your record.
