Caltrans will begin work in June on this $3.4 million dollar project that will repair and resurface 49.7 lane miles of State Route 99, from County Line Road in Delano to Sherwood Avenue in McFarland, increasing safety and improving travel on State Route 99 in Kern County.

SB 1 provides an ongoing funding increase of approximately $1.8 billion annually for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the state highway system. SB 1 funds will enable Caltrans to fix more than 17,000 lane miles of pavement, 500 bridges and 55,000 culverts by 2027. Additionally, more than $1.3 billion annually will fund projects to relieve congestion, improve the movement of freight and improve transit services.
