Campaign calls on Governor Brown to prioritize early education

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Local organizations are hoping to close the achievement gap in education by promoting early education.

Local educators joined early education advocates Wednesday as the statewide "Gapbusters" tour makes a stop in Bakersfield.

They are calling on Governor Brown to close the achievement gap by taking steps to improve access to education for kids ages 5 and under.

Advocates believe this is vital for preparing California kids for school.
