BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A police chase through east Bakersfield ends after the driver crashed through a fence at a cemetery.

Just before midnight BPD said it saw a car driving at a high rate of speed in the area of South Owens and Patomic.

The driver didn't pull over and led officers on a short pursuit.

The chase came to an end minutes later when the driver crashed through a fence at Union Cemetery. 

Police said the driver was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
