A 21-year-old woman from Lost Hills was driving a Nissan Sentra on Highway 33 northbound, south of Arnold Avenue at an unknown speed, said Jerry Knight with California Highway Patrol.

Thomas Davis was driving a crane truck southbound at an unknown speed, Knight said.

For unknown reasons, the Sentra drifted to the right dirt shoulder to the east of Highway 33.

The Sentra re-entered the highway northbound and turned his vehicle sharply to the right, causing her vehicle to slide directly in front of the path of travel of Davis' truck, Knight said.

Davis was unable to apply his brakes before striking the driver's side of the victim's vehicle. The impact of the collision killed the woman, Knight said.

Highway 33 was closed for 3 hours for investigation.

The victim's name has not been released.
