BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The new census results are in and Kern County isn't getting much bigger.

The census found population only increased .8 percent from 2011 to 2012, with the county's population at just more than 850,000 people.

Delano was one of several cities that actually saw a decrease with a 2.1 percent dropoff.

Officials said it's because a number of Delano inmates were taken to different jails because of realignment.
