Centennial High School will be participating in the California Mock Trial competition beginning tomorrow in Riverside, Calif. Centennial earned a place in the state finals by placing first in the Kern County Superintendent of Schools’ sponsored Kern County Mock Trial held in January. The state winner earns the right to represent California at the National Mock Trial competition in May in Indianapolis.
Round one takes place on March 22 from 5-7:30 p.m. Rounds two, three and four will be contested on March 23 between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Should Centennial make the final round, it will be held on March 24 from 9-11:30 a.m. The awards ceremony follows from 1-2 p.m.
This office will not have a representative in Riverside for the event and will, therefore, be unable to provide results from the competition. However, those interested in interviews or results during the competition can call team coach Brett Dobson on his cell phone at (661) 333-9298 (not for publication).
More information about the event can be found on the Constitutional Rights Foundation's Web site, http://www.crf-usa.org/mock-trial-california/finals-general-information.html.
