BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Schools in Kern County received a nice financial boost Friday morning.
The Chevron "Fuel your School" program raised more than $275,000 for local districts.
Every time someone purchased eight or more gallons of gas from a participating Chevron or Texaco station, Chevron donated one dollar to local schools during the fundraiser time frame.
The project launched for the first time this year in Kern County.
