BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

Chevron's Fuel Your School program unveiled a new project to a bunch of students in Bakersfield on Thursday.

The Fuel Your School project was fulfilled at Leo B. Hart Elementary. Mrs. Diller's classroom of students opened the box of new science supplies and Mrs. Diller conducted a brief classroom lesson with the kids using the new materials.

Chevron will donate $1 for every eight gallon or larger fill up from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 at participating Chevron and Texaco stations in Kern County, up to a total contribution of $300,000 dollars.

"We know that California schools are facing some tough economic times.  Now more than ever, public and private partnerships are critical to the success of our students' future," said Carla Musser, manager of Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit in Baskersfield.
