ARVIN, Calif. - A 71-year-old Delano man, Mohinder Sidhu, is dead after a three vehicle collision involving a semi, according to the California Highway Patrol.
On March 18, at about 10:00 a.m., officials with the CHP went to the to Di Giorgio and Tejon Highway in Arvin, regarding a three vehicle collision.
Officiers said a 2007 black Toyota Camry entered the intersection, directly into 49-year-old Juan Garcia's, the driver of the semi, path.
Garcia said he slammed on his brakes, but was unable to stop in time and struck the Camry on the driver's side.
According to the official's report, the force of the impact sent the Camry into the BMW, which was being driven by 38-year-old Luis Guerrero.
The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger, 71-year-old Kaur Gurmeet, was taken by ground ambulance to Kern Medical Center with minor injuries.
Garcia and Guerrero were no injured.
Speed was not a factor with this collision and alcohol and drugs was not suspected.
Tejon Hwy was closed in both directions for about two hours.
