I-5 reopened after helicopter rescue for victim in Lost Hills Crash

Lost Hills crash causes freeway shutdown

Southbound lanes of I-5 were shut down temporarily at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday so the CHP could lane a helicopter on the road. Crews rescued a crash victim after a two car crash just south of Lost Hills Road about 4:50 a.m. and that person had to be flown to the hospital.

The closure lasted just 10 minutes and then officers were able to get traffic moving again.

Both cars involved in the crash were in the center divider, so traffic was moving, but it was very slow with everyone wanting to get a look at the wreckage.

The condition of the patient flown to the hospital is unknown.
