BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division is hosting a low cost rabies vaccination, licensing and microchip clinic for their pets.
On Saturday, July 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m., the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering low cost rabies vaccinations and licensing for city residents. City residents will also have the opportunity to have their pet implanted with a free microchip, if their pet is currently licensed.
The clinic will held be at Virginia Avenue Park, located at 2022 Virginia Avenue.
The microchip program is an effort focused on reducing the number of animals entering the shelter system. Typically micro chipped pets are not taken to the shelter; instead they are returned home.
