TAFT, Calif. -
The closing of superior court in Taft could mean a lot more time on the road for police and deputies who protect the town.
The closure of the courthouse is a cost cutting measure, but it means inmates will have to be transported 40 miles to Lamont and officers will have to drive the extra distance to testify and file paperwork.
