Coffee Road closed early Friday morning following big rig accident

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 3RD UPDATE: The Bakersfield Police Department has announced that the southbound lanes have now opened, as of 4:30 p.m. The northbound lanes should open in about 30 minutes.
2ND UPDATE: According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Coffee Road will remain closed between Rosedale Hwy. & Brimhall Road until 12:00p.m.
1ST UPDATE: The Bakersfield Police Department has arrested Kevin Ansolabehere, 20, for driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with Friday morning's accident on Coffee Road.
Officers say Ansolabehere was driving a 2004 Chevy Silverado southbound on Coffee Road south of Jet Way when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a PG&E power pole. The collision caused significant damage to the pole and several power lines were down in the roadway. Coffee Road between Brimhall Road and Rosedale Highway will be closed until 9:00 a.m. for repairs.

The accident happened at 2:25 a.m. at the intersection of Coffee Road & Jet Way, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Northbound traffic is being detoured at Brimhall Road & southbound traffic is being detoured at Rosedale Highway.
