BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Two burglary suspects were arrested at a local jewelry store while attempting to sell stolen jewelry.
Deputies were in the process of obtaining a search warrant for the suspect’s residence when they received a call that two subjects were at another local store attempting to sell jewelry. Deputies responded and contacted Christina Johnston and Kevin Heeg inside the store attempting to sell stolen jewelry from one of the burglaries.
On Sept. 27, a resident in the 1400 block of Pinto Street, Ridgecrest reported a burglary of approximately $450.00 worth of coins.
On Sept. 30, a resident in the 3600 block of W. Graff reported a burglary of approximately $4250.00 worth of coins and jewelry.
Both of these residences are in close proximity to each other and the incidents appeared to be related based on the time frame and method of entry into the residences. During the course of the investigation, deputies located some of the stolen coins at a local coin store and identified a suspect.
Johnston was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property. Heeg was arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of paraphernalia. Both subjects were transported to CRF for booking.
Deputies later served a search warrant at Christine Johnston’s residence and located additional stolen property from both burglaries.
