Community Center closing for repairs

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A southwest Bakersfield community center that provides after school programs and youth classes for low-income children will be closing temporarily.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center will close Nov. 4 through Dec. 23 for much-needed repairs.
The facility is getting new tile and carpet installed throughout the entire building.
During the closure, youth academy classes will be relocated to the "Stop the Violence" building.
The Build-a-Bike program will be held at the Police Activities League on east 4th Street.
