BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - City and community leaders continue to work together this morning to put a stop to crime associated with internet cafes in Bakersfield.
Last month we told you about how city council members want to enact ordinances that would limit these businesses which have been connected to illegal gambling.
According to the Bakersfield Californian, the city plans on sending nuisance letters to the owners and landlords of these businesses as the Kern County DA's office waits on a court decision that would allow them to prosecute these cafes for illegal gambling.
In the meantime, police presence has increased at these businesses.
