BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Community will have a chance to say "thanks" to a local man who dedicated most of his life to giving at-risk kids in East Bakersfield a fighting chance.
Michael Dallas lost his battle with Leukemia on Wednesday night.
The boxing coach at the Bakersfield Police activities league for more than a decade was a mentor to hundreds of local kids.
He was diagnosed with the disease less than a year ago and attended the 'Fight for Life' fundraiser over the weekend.
Michael's funeral has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Saint Peter's Baptist Church.
