Companies, government agencies cutting back water use during drought

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Many organizations are pitching in to help out with water conservation during this drought.

AT&T has said it will stop washing all of the vehicles in an attempt to conserve water.

Kern County Fire Department has also join the fight and has reduced the amount of washing it gives its fire engines and other vehicles.

The department is also reducing how much water they use during training exercises and trying to make sure any water that does get used goes on to grass or other landscaping.

The rest of the county fleet uses private car washes that recycle a portion of their water.

The city of Bakersfield has its own car wash facility for its vehicles and that car wash also recycle a portion of its water.
