Complaint filed against harassing Tehachapi man

TEHACHAPI, Calif. - A complaint was filed regarding a 45-year-old man who was harassing a minor on the bus in Tehachapi this week.

On March 6, officers of the Tehachapi Police Department received a complaint from a minor who said that over the past weeks, she has been harassed, annoyed, and followed by an unknown Hispanic male, who rides the same bus with her in the mornings and afternoon.

The 16-year-old female minor, stated that the unknown Hispanic male, in his 40s, made inappropriate comments to her and her mother.

The Tehachapi Police Department investigated the complaint and made contact with a Hispanic male, who later admitted to annoying the minor female who he said he liked.

A criminal complaint has been filed with the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for a misdemeanor violation for Annoying a Child Under the Age of 18.

The man is from California City, but due to the investigation and pending charges his name cannot be released, according to the officials.  A spokesperson with Tehachapi PD said the suspect does not have any convictions for this type of crime.
