Kern County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a felon Wednesday afternoon.
At about 2:30 p.m. deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Gang Suppression Section contacted 32-year-old Miguel Angel Montes during a traffic stop.
Montes is on active felony probation and is currently out on bail on a separate felony investigation, deputies said.
During a search of Montes’ vehicle, deputies said they located an unregistered loaded firearm, ammunition, ecstasy pills, a collapsible baton and drug paraphernalia.
Montes was arrested on numerous weapon and narcotics related charges including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm by an active member of a criminal street gang, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a baton and participation in a criminal street gang.
Montes was booked into the Central Receiving Facility and is being held on $182,500.00 bail.
