Coroner: Cause of death pending for Bakersfield man allegedly beaten to death by deputies

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - An autopsy has been released regarding a man who was allegedly beat to death by deputies.
The Kern County Sheriff-Coroner, Donny Youngblood, said that after completing the autopsy, the cause of death is pending toxicology and microscopic studies.
Sheriff deputies said 33-year-old David Sal Silva, died at Kern Medical Center early Wednesday morning after being found highly intoxicated and resisting arrest at the corner of Palm and Flower in East Bakersfield.
