BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Court documents reveal gruesome details about the case against a man accused of a four of assaults and rapes in East Bakersfield in last summer 2013.
Billy Ray Johnson has been charged with 21 felony counts, including rape, sex by force and residential burglary.
Court documents obtained by 23ABC reveal how Johnson allegedly bound and raped the victims and even terrorized the children of the victims.
The following details may be disturbing.
On July 1, reports say Billy Ray Johnson entered the bedroom window of an apartment on Virginia Avenue where two women, one 17 years old, were sleeping.
Reports say Johnson threatened to rape the 17-year-old at hit her in the head with a pistol during the struggle. The other woman entered the room, allowing the first victim to escape and get help from neighbors.
On July 18, reports say Johnson entered the bathroom window of a 22-year-old woman who was alone in the apartment on Columbus Street with her 19-month-old baby. Reports say Johnson raped her and left.
On August 1, reports say Johnson attacked a 35-year-old who was leaving her Virginia Avenue apartment for work. In the apartment were children, ages 7 through 13. Reports say Johnson raped the mother, touched an 11-year-old girl and duct taped all four in the apartment.
On August 19, reports say Johnson entered the kitchen window of a 39-year-old woman who was with her 9-year-old daughter. Reports said Johnson raped the mother.
Johnson demanded the daughter to turn over all of the phones in the apartment, according to reports. The 9-year-old gave him two, but concealed one in her room, from which she called 911. She ran out of the apartment and got help from neighbors.
Billy Ray Johnson appeared in court Tuesday, requesting a reduction in bail. That motion was denied.
