BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - After being in service for only 24 hours, the new Truck 55 assisted at IKEA near Ft Tejon when a 50 foot tall pallet lift came off its tracks.

On Jan. 13, at about 9:00 a.m., a crew with the Kern County Fire Department went to the IKEA Distribution Center regarding a 45-foot tall pallet crane system that had come off it's tracks.

Officials said the crane was leaning onto the nearby storage racks and fire suppression system.

Battalion 5, along with Engine 55 and Truck 55, developed a plan to help IKEA employees.

Fire crew said they stood by as a facility personnel and the crane manufacturer attempted to right the crane.

No injuries were reported.
