Crash, loose boat on SR-58 in Bakersfield causes traffic backup

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Traffic is backed up on the westbound SR-58, according to reports.

On August 2, at about 3:00 p.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol went to SR-58 after reports of an accident.

When officers arrived they discovered that a pick-up pulling a boat merged into the lane where the semi was. Both vehicles were traveling westbound. 

According to reports, the boat then became loose and is sitting in the middle of the highway.

Traffic is backed up on the westbound SR 58 lanes between the Chester exit to Real Road., according to reports.

At this time, the semi driver is fine and the two passengers of the pick up truck have minor to moderate injuries and were taken to the hospital.
