OILDALE, Calif. - Crews responded to a house fire in Oildale on the 100 block of Cooper Avenue at about 2 p.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, smoke and flames were seen coming from the kitchen window and door of unit A which was about 20% involved with fire, officials said.
Quick actions by fire crews prevented the fire from spreading to the other unit, officials said.
Neither unit was occupied at the time of the fire, officials said.
A reinforced alarm was initiated due to the potential of the fire spreading to the other unit. There were no injuries to report. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature, officials said.
Officials said the fire caused $40,000 in damage.
23ABC viewers said there was a large amount of smoke. They said three fire trucks and an ambulance were on the scene.
