Crews tore down a structure at the old PG&E plant in northwest Bakersfield.
PG&E says crews spent a few weeks preparing the building for demolition on Thursday.
In a matter of seconds, the old building came tumbling down. PG&E says it will take a couple days to clean-up the debris from Thursday's demolition.
In spring, PG&E says they plan to demolish the main building by using explosives.
