Crisp & Cole associate Jayson Costa to be sentenced in federal court

FRESNO, Calif. - A man with a role in the collapse in Bakersfield's multi-million dollar housing market was sentenced Monday morning to 78 months in prison.

Jayson Peter Costa, 41, who was with the Crisp & Cole Real Estate firm, appeared before United States District Judge Lawrence J. O'Neill in a federal court in Fresno.

Costa pleaded guilty back in November to conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud for his role in an extensive mortgage fraud scheme that ran from January 2004 to September 2007, according to United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner.
