BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Sunday began bright and early with a tough challenge ahead for cyclists in Bakersfield.
The first annual Rock Cobbler Bike Race brought cyclists together for an 80 mile race made of muddy challenges and steep terrain.
The course will include six stations with helpful "clues" to assist the cyclists throughout the race, with only one rest stop halfway through the course.
Although registration is already closed, the festivities held at Lengthwise will provide food and refreshments, and are free and welcome to anyone.
The race itself started at 8:30 a.m.
