DA needs more evidence to file charges against truck driver in crash with motorcycle

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County District Attorney said they need more evidence before they can file charges against a local truck driver involved in an accident that killed one man and seriously injured a 12-year-old boy.
Even though Chad Harrelson was sober during the crash, Taft Police have asked the DA to file vehicular manslaughter charges against him.
On September 2, Harrelson was driving a semi trailer in the area of Highway 33 and Wood Street. When it collided with a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The driver, Robert Mansell, was killed instantly, but his 12-year-old son Nick was critically injured.
According to the DA's office, they have requested a list of information and are waiting fro Taft Police to respond before they can make a final decision.
