DELANO, Calif. - The body found in a Delano canal Tuesday was confirmed to be that of Erika Padron Lango, Delano Police said.
Sheriff Detectives and Kern County Search and Rescue recovered a body from the Friant-Kern Canal near Woollomes Road in Delano.
Deputies said the body had been in the canal for an extended period of time, and there was some indication the persons death was suspicious.
The coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the person's identity and cause and manner of death.
Lango walked away from her Delano apartment sometime during the night of October 9, officials said.
Before leaving, surveillance video from AM/PM in Delano depicts Lango making a purchase. Lango left the business in the family vehicle driven by husband, Julio Lango, officials said.
